Description
Vierzonnais d’origine, André Rosay (1913-1991), réfractaire au STO et politiquement impliqué contre Vichy, se réfugie à La Borne en 1943. Après l’école de Bourges, il travaille pour la céramique industrielle.
Après avoir travaillé chez Armand Bédu, il s’installe dans ce qui fut la boutique d’Alphonse Talbot.
Son travail est stylisé, imprégné d’art sacré (il réalise le chemin de croix de l’église de Mehun), de l’imagerie berrichonne, il stylise ses formes qu’elles soient animalières ou humaines. Travaille le grès au sel, tourné ou modelé. Il est l’un des pionniers du renouveau de La Borne.
Cette belle coupe est typique de son travail, et crée assez tôt dans son histoire.
